ABOUT US

GISTIS, was founded in 2002 by Dr. Rafael Arce and Anthropologist Tomás Fernández. Both combined have more than 15 years of experience in Project Management, especially in the areas of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data management and analysis, digital photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (RS) applications. They are the management team, that leads a multidisciplinary group of professionals dedicated to satisfy our customers needs in every level, from planning, design and development to final implementation.

Dr. Arce co-founder of GISITS, also works at the University of Costa Rica , Geography Department in which he is a cathedratic professor in the areas of GIS, Remote Sensing, Spatial Analysis among other subjects. Dr. Arce's educational approach and teaching background brings a new level of learning and understanding into our training programs and courses. He also brings his extensive experience in managing and executing numerous projects for local authorities, government institutions and commercial clients.

Anthropologist Fernandez's brings into GISITS a unique mixture of social awareness, enthusiasm and leadership skills, that gives an edge on every single project allowing to obtain the greatest profit to our customers and to the company.
